EXPAND YOUR SKILLS
Our younger members can learn CPR and first aid, while members who are at least 16 to 17 years old can take classes to become a Certified First Responder (CFR), one of the entry-level positions of the Emergency Medical Services. Becoming a CFR makes you eligible to work on the ambulance. Adults are eligible to become ambulance dispatchers, EMT's and/or drivers. |
BUILD YOUR FUTURE RVAC provides a highly challenging and rewarding volunteer experience that can help with a future career. Several of our members have found secure employment with the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), as well as with private ambulance services. The Ridgewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps was an important stepping stone to obtaining their current positions. |
